FEBRUARY 2010 CATEGORIES
CHOCOLATE-PEAN UT BUTTER
DESSERTS How about developing a treat for your
special valentine? Send us a recipe that combines
two favorite flavors— chocolate and peanut
butter— in cakes or cupcakes, brownies, puddings,
candies, bars, or cookies. Combine smooth or
chunky peanut butter with semisweet chocolate,
milk chocolate, chocolate pieces, chopped
chocolate, or another chocolate. Send us your very
best new recipe for enjoying this classic duo.
GREAT GRAINSIDE DISHES Turn familiar
and less familiar grains into a hearty, tasty side
dish. Need a few ideas for grains to use in recipes?
How about amaranth, barley, bulgur, cornmeal,
cracked wheat, hominy grits, millet, quinoa, rice,
spelt, or wheat berries? Use these grains in risottos,
casseroles, pilafs, or salads— such as tabbouleh. Or
cook grains with vegetables to make savory fritters
and cakes to serve alongside a main dish.
